Technology and strategic planning

Depending on the nature of an organization, technology can drive the organization’s strategic planning, or the strategic planning being used in the firm drives the technology being used in the organization. Technology and strategic planning are among the primary elements that contribute to the success of an organization. Effective planning ensures that an organization allocates enough time and resources to its operations (Wolf & Floyd, 2017).

A firm delivers quality products and services when the management employs efficient strategic planning. The factors influencing a firm’s decision to use technology include automation, wireless charging, cryptography, engine efficiency, and internet connectivity, among other technological factors. If an organization employs the type of technology that works on automation and needs the internet, it aligns its strategic plan with its technological needs. Besides, some factors influence the strategic planning that a firm adopts in its operations. These factors include the available resources, leadership, organization culture, and structure. Technology is among the resources used in a firm; hence is a factor that influences strategic planning.
